Camerimage Lodz 2009 – The City { 0 }

Last November and December I attended for the first time the XVII edition Camerimage International Film Festival of the Art of the Cinematography. The festival is held in Lodz, the “film capital of Poland”, an interesting city that combines:
An industrial textile tradition, with nice post industrial structure and buildings still present today and re-used in an interesting way:


A wealthy and culturally very active city center full of old palaces, villas, old and new museums, and great theaters and auditoriums:






A strong cinema atmosphere because of the film and the acting school, many cinemas, film studios and a cinematography museum:





There’s also more to come with a futuristic film studio project supported by David Lynch:

And an ambitious project for the future festival main venue presented by the architect Frank Gehry in person in the main theater:
